IAEA-C5 was produced from sub-fossil wood originating from buried bed forest in eastern Wisconsin, USA, near the western shore of Lake Michigan by R.M. Kalin and A. Long. The recommended value of the quality control material is the result of the statistical evaluation of an interlaboratory comparison exercise [1].
