IAEA-C6 was prepared from sucrose material by H. A. Polach [1]. Its former name was ANU.sucrose secondary ¹⁴C standard originally calibrated against the NBS Oxalic Acid standard and made available to the ¹⁴C community in the early 1980s. The recommended value of the quality control material is the result of the statistical evaluation of an interlaboratory comparison exercise [1].
