IAEA-C6 was prepared from sucrose material by H. A. Polach [1]. Its former name was ANU.sucrose secondary 14C standard originally calibrated against the NBS Oxalic Acid standard and made available to the 14C community in the early 1980s. The recommended value of the quality control material is the result of the statistical evaluation of an interlaboratory comparison exercise [1].
